There is one huge problem with Nashville Star. They have never produced a really successful winner. Buddy Jewel, the first winner, has only done moderately well. All of the other winners have bombed big time.

There's more than one problem with Nashville Star. It hasn't been, however, for a lack of talent. The problem is that they've picked the wrong winners the last two years. The NS2 winner went to a crossover pop singer. The guy that should have won, George Canyon, would have been a flat out star, properly promoted. He's doing okay, anyway, with a couple of albums out, but better promotion would have helped a great deal.

Last year was loaded with talent, but the judges wanted a woman to win, and they jumped on the Erica Jo bandwagon.

This year has gone down in production value (it wasn't that great to begin with), and I don't see it lasting much longer. The talent's there, but it's no fun to watch.

I can't figure out why they put on the same night as AI. By the time it's on I'm reality-singing-showed-out
