Not because they think he stinks but because they think him winning ticks the AI braintrust off!

Now that would be excellent and worth my writing to them again! LOL :)

What's going on? Simon apologizes for being too hard on the spoiled Brat Kat; Joe Scarborough and guests swear that AI is fixed; posters are fighting on here; and Paula was almost sober.

Is there a full moon tonight?

Just found this on another site. I added paragraph breaks:

Well GC, since you brought it up, sort of - I got this over at TWoP which came via the AI boards:

“up until recently I worked behind the scenes for AI.> I started in the middle of season 2. I recently quit my job for personal reasons. Part of that reason was due to some of the unfair things that occur which you fans may or may not be aware of. This season, the producer’s decided before the auditions they were looking for a rock or alt/rock singer to fill the gap and appeal to a broader audience. With Bo not winning last season, they wanted to compensate in some form, as well as make their mark in the alt rock market while still maintaining their core audience. Enter Chris Daughtry. While Simon internally was not sold about his marketability, the producer’s were dead set on Chris being this year’s “One”. Simon had no choice but to come around, and he too eventually jumped on that idea.

The plan was always to have a guy/guy finale, much like Ruben Clay in season 2. Taylor, was thought to be that person. Along the way came 2 people that are cramping that plan. Enter, Katharine, Elliott. 2 unforeseen obstacles of the AI powers. They are going back and forth on whether to replace Taylor with Elliott, but are set against Katharine, despite her receiving the second highest vote total the last 2 weeks. Thehy know she can sing really well, but this goes against Nigel and Ken’s male vs. make planned finale. This is why you witnessed the scathing remarks last night made to her by all the judges. Those remarks were actually scripted following her rehearsal by the AI brass! No matter how she sang the song, those were the remarks they were told to make about her performance.

I know this because I have a few good friends that still work behind the scenes, and no I can’t name names but they informed me of the “work” yesterday. I’m only writing about some of the unfair things that go on with the show in hopes of bringing some awareness to you, the audience. All I can say is don’t be surprised if their chosen one does in fact end up winning. I witnessed season 3 the night fantasia was in the bottom 2, she actually garnered less votes than Latoya that night! You guessed it, she was Simon and the producer’s pick so they kept her in there! Season 2, I won’t go too far into that one, but let’s just say Ruben’s win had a little something to do with compensating for Frenchie being dropped from the show. It was a way to quiet the controversy of that decision. I hope you will read what I’ve written with an open mind, as I know the post probably won’t remain on here long. The truth tends to go missing on these boards so I hope I was able to help some viewer’s realize what is in the works here! Sincerely, Rob”

posters are fighting on here

A disruptor (or two) was causing trouble. That's all it was.

>>>The show is becoming a parody of itself.<<<

Something stinks--almost as much as Kat's hideous ripoff of Whitney Houston. Kat's teary-eyed dad must have called his topflight Hollywood lawyer last night to threatn a lawsuit againsts Simon and Co. if his brat doesn't win.

I've never seen such a fast turnaround in my life on the part of these judges.

A music prof friend of mine watched the show for the first time last night. This guy is an amazing director of several bands. He has perfect pitch and his musical "ear" is impeccable.

I asked him today what he thought. He said the first girl was terrible; that she screeched offkey throughout the song; and that she was dressed like a 'ho.

He said the bald guy was very good and that the not-so-goodooking guy had a great voice.

But he liked Paris the best...said she is a terrific stylist and her voice is magnificent. He couldn't believe she's only 17.

There you have it from a professional and widely proclaimed musician and teacher.

More from another site. It confirms some stuff that was posted earlier. Next week should be a good week for Taylor, unless AI decides to change the year he was born at the last minute! /sarcasm

Chuck Ross of TV Week asked Nigel what he thought of Taylor's performance and said he surprised that Taylor seemed to be having an off night. (I'm paraphrasing, it was difficult hearing Chuck) Nigel thought he not at his best and that Taylor had a little trouble with one line in rehearsal. He thinks he was nervous about that line and it got to him.

Then he said, in Taylor's defense his song was changed twice and he just got that one the day before. He did great with it under those circumstances.

Chuck asked what the other song was. He said first 'When a Man Loves a Woman' and then said, 'No wait, the song he rehearsed was 'Try a Little Tenderness' Chuck said WOW (Chuck is a Taylor fan)

Simon continues, 'We decided that didn't suit the theme because it was Andrea Bocelli week not Blues Brothers week.' (Chuck still seems in shock)

Tonight he is going to split them into 3 groups: Top 2, Middle 2, and Bottom 2. He said 4 of the top 6 were superb this week. The person going home will be a bit of a shock because they have one of the largest fan bases.

They got the largest number of votes ever including finales at 47.6 million votes.

Next week they sing 2 songs. One from the year they were born and one from this weeks Billboard Charts.

I find it very interesting how little we hear from former contestants about what goes on behind the scenes. After 4 full seasons, you figure someone would have something to say...

I think Taylor just needs to hang in there. There's only a couple of weeks to go.

"Nasty? You should hear what I say about him in private, without the use of profanity, of course."

LOL, I should seek help because I cut up Taylor in the privacy of my own home (while viewing American Idol) without the use of profanity? I have now heard everything.

Interesting posts. A handful of "former employee/insider" comments have surfaced, who knows if they are real or not. They whole Kat incident with the judges smells bad though, as does their recent handling of Taylor. God I cannot believe we have to hear a current song next week.

My wife is also a professional musician/singer/voice teacher. She said right after Kat's performance how subpar it was and deserving of the scorn it received from the judges. Even my untrained ear often picks up the caterwauling Kat does when she goes high or loud. Paris is by far the best gal and thankfully survived.

The turnaround by the judges and the suddenly inflated vote totals for Kat are puzzling though...

Posting a contrary opinion about a contestant on American Idol is being a "disruptor?"

I was unaware the mission statement on FR included support for Taylor Hicks.

The day that is the case on any forum is the day I leave.

I think the post from a disgruntled AI employee a week or so back is suspect. This one rings more true in my opinion. I think they just need to hang in there, ignore what Simon says, do their own thing and do their best. And find a song that AI can't dispute. Gives a whole new meaning to 'safe songs'.

No, I cannot name one song that is a current hit. Except "Bad Day" for obvious reasons!

I know what you mean. Our daughter's boyfriend's brother was in Iraq and before he got home, Bri went and then before he got home, his brother went back again. Our nephew has been over and back safely. Thank goodness! Very stressful for family, that's for sure! It sure is a long haul once they come home on leave until they come home for good! Enjoy Justin while he is home. Make memories.
