Every contestant, every week, should go into the eliminations assuming they're the one being cut. This will let them handle it gracefully if it does happen...

I think a lot of them do. I think some get more emotional than others. I can't recall a time when anyone voted off made a scene and acted like they shouldn't have been.

Rod's the kind of guy who would probably think nothing of asking Pickle or McPhee is they would care to go get drunk and shag after work.

Probably would get away with it too.....

It's not the show. It's the American Idol watching people.....Too many of them are suckers for "image". Of course, a lot are young and don't know any better. Too many people think she's "cute" and feel sorry for her and that's why they vote. Some because of her talent (singing talent). But a lot for other reasons completely unrelated to artistic ability. Unfortunately, that's why this is NOT a singing competition. Never has been. It's a marketing competition. Period.

I think it was deliberate, but she should only be able to get away with that gimmick once.

She's used it twice so far. I think the other time was Blame it on the Sun. I definately remember her pouting and saying she was saw reee.

Thank you for such a great post! I am a HUGE Ace Young fan, and I'm glad you saw what I did....someone who's not just a pretty face but who is genuine and sincere about his music, his life and the way he lives it.

I didn't write that, but I knew there were some Ace fans and I thought it was a nice article. :)

AMERICAN Idol" loser Bo Bice's 15 minutes of fame are way, way over - especially at O'Brien's pub on West 46th Street. That's where witnesses say the half-in-the-bag Southern rocker took a cheap and ineffective swing at strapping ex-New York Giants football star Glenn Parker Sunday night.

Parker signaled a bartender and together they threw the "Idol" also-ran out and told him to scram. "He was a real pain in the ass," one worker said.

So, how about song suggestions for "Love Songs" week for Chris? I'm thinking things like:

Interstate Love Song - Stone Temple Pilots
All I Want is You - U2
Love Song - Tesla
The Flame - Cheap Trick
Still Loving You - Scorpions
Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns'n'Roses

Thoughts?

They also learned (wrongly) from Simon's slams of Clay Aiken as "too Broadway," that there's something wrong with a higher class of music than what today's schlock pop "artists" have to offer.

Interesting take. Maybe they are trying to right that wrong.

Wyatt wrote about Taylor and his harmonica: When it's gets later in the competition and he can sing one song he wants, he needs to pull it out. Damn the consequences.

I don't think he'd be allowed to play it, which is unfortunate.

This morning on Good Day L.A., Simon's girlfriend, Terri, who also covers the show for some entertainment news outlet, had this to say -- paraphrased:

She believes Kellie Pickler will win. She said that Kellie consistently gets among the highest vote totals. Terri did use the word "among," and did not say Pickle ALWAYS gets THE highest vote totals, but she clearly left viewers with the impression that Pickle is leading the competition.

When the Good Day L.A. regular hosts observed that Pickle did a terrible job the other night, and that she's not the strongest singer, Terri said that this year is all about personality, and that Pickle is a "firecracker."

Being Simon's long-time girlfriend, Terri is the ultimate insider. I can't remember when she's been wrong in her...ummm...predictions. I hope she's wrong this time. In fact, with six contestants still in the show, I hope Terri was doing a little misdirection. But somehow I doubt it. :(

Rumor has it that Pickle's Daddy gets out of the pen in time for next week's show. He also supposed to be coming out there to sit in the audience.

Let's see if this holds.

If so that will not be good for Pickle.

I doubt it. More likely Simon "discovered" operatic music when he introduced "Il Divo," the operatic music version of N'Sync type boy groups.

I'm a cynic. So forgive me for thinking it's all about M O N E Y.

I thought he was getting out in early May, but whadda I know.

Whenever it happens, it will be good for Pickle -- and for ratings. Everybody loves a tearjerker. (barf!)

Daddy the convicted felon in the audience. The crime was A&B so that will endear people.

End of April is close enough to May I guess. My sources are generally good but I am always skeptical.

After this is all over I will have some better stuff to post.

In these talent competitions do you think sympathy stories should come into play, whether its the constestant themself or others repeating it? Do they adversely affect those that don't have one, but are just average joes trying to get a break? Or do you think hearing them over and over could actually work against them?

Actually, I trust your sources far more than mine. In fact, I have no sources other than what's generally available to all on the internet.

So, how about song suggestions for "Love Songs" week for Chris? I'm thinking things like:

The first question is, IS there a pre chosen list that they have to choose from? Like 100 greatest love songs of all time? Or something that AI devised?

I would think taht since Bocelli is the guest and coach that we might eliminate certain possibilities, know what I mean. I think they will be singing the slower songs. I'm thinking there is probably a list to choose from.
