Did you figure out the reason that they kept Taylor for the hot seat at the end? It's because EVERYONE knows that Taylor was safe for this week! All the others could be argued, but Taylor's position (so far) is unassailable.

Found it a little sad that Taylor picked one of the groups. I liked someone's suggestion that he should have sat on Simon's lap -- with the only really "safe" group in the room! Would have got a big laugh.

I just love Mandisa's voice! Like warm silk -- but with power behind it. I'll buy whatever album she puts out.

After her performance of last night, I find it astounding that the Gerkhin was in the "safe" group. What does she have to do to be demoted -- drop her drawers onstage? (Oh, wait, that would probably get her MORE votes ... sigh!) Well, all I can say is that the Barbie doll demographic is obviously alive and voting.

Close your eyes & listen to Kelly....You will wish you had earplugs....that chick is rancid.

No doubt, she is the least vocally talented of the remaining bunch. Then again, Taylor is second worst, and yet he is the most popular Idol. Because he ENTERTAINS. And up until Tuesday night, Pickler did as well. That she could butcher her song and still avoid the bottom 3 is a testament to how many records this chick could sell. Fair or not, America loves to Pick Pickler. And I promise you, Simon would rather sell Kellie over Katherine, Paris, Elliot or Chris. Those 4 would be Billboard losers. But Pickler and Taylor would sell millions, Taylor would pack arenas, and Pickler would be seen in Legally Blonde 3.

I hope Cowell chokes on her. She's not in Carrie Underwood's universe.

Don't worry, Pickler wont win. If she does it will be the end of AI. Simon must know Taylor is the next superstar, despite his comments to the contrary. Taylor Hicks has got IT in spades. Chris should be very worried about next week's "love songs" theme. Unless Creed remade an Irving Berlin standard, he will likely founder again. I think Paris sucks and should go. And Katherine is way overrated. Elliot has a spectacular voice and looks better each week. But an Idol? Don't think so. I can't see anyone but Taylor walking off with it this year.

The more I listen to just the audio of the performances from week to week, the more I'm beginning to think Elliott should win. Not saying I think he WILL win, but what a voice! Based on the audio alone, I'd move Elliott to the top of my rankings for this week(up from the 4th place I gave him after watching AI.) Katharine is back in my good graces after her performance this week, but even she loses some of the magic with just the audio. Paris is still solid and about equal with Katharine just judging by the audio. Started out as a Taylor fan and he's still my favorite, but Elliott is gaining ground.

If I recall correctly, you are an Ace fan:

American Idol: Ace, That's All ... Folks.
http://www.writingup.com/laurabelle/american_idol_ace_thats_all_folks

snip

Ryan gets to the final result quickly it seems, and announces that Ace has been eliminated. He is still smiling! I think he truly is okay with this, has decided it's all good. Ace tells Ryan he had a blast, and can't wait to perform with all of the top ten this summer, and see all his fans that saw him on TV. His brother, who has been with Ace every step of the way, stands up in the audience and shouts loud approval for his little brother.

I find it really sad to see Ace go, even though he's at peace with it, and even thought I was prepared, knowing there was no way he could make it any further. He was more than just a good-looking singer to me. I thought he brought so much honesty and vulnerability to all his performances, and his performances were something that he felt every moment of.

I noticed a trend a few years ago, that often the people voted out are ones that had good weeks the week they're voted out, but bad ones the weeks before. It's my belief that Mandisa was voted out because of her assumed preachiness the week before, and I believe now that Ace was voted out because of his performance of We Will Rock You last week. At least he has the comfort of good company there in the final three, as Chris and Paris certainly weren't the second and third worst of the night.

We all know who wins that coveted title of the person that was the worst, but wasn't even in the bottom three. I think her "Aw Shucks" attitude saved her butt, and got people to feel sorry for her and vote. Next week, with another slower moving theme, should be interesting. Kellie has proven she is not good on ballads. Will she be able to survive two weeks in a row like this?

For anybody that was a huge Ace Young fan, here's a great way for you to pay tribute. Every year, he and his family sing for sick children at a children's hospital in Denver during Christmastime. There's a collection of fans at a message board who are taking up a collection to raise money to donate in his name to this hospital. The hospital officials have confirmed that he does indeed sing there every year, and has been for ten years. I've been saying all along, he's more than just a good-looking guy. With next week's theme being Greatest Love songs, I wonder if there will be a pre chosen list that they have to choose from, of if they can branch out on their own.

Also, wouldn't last weeks classics have fallen into this category?

It will be interesting to see if Pickles leaves next week. She's overdue, had a bad week this past week, had previous shakey weeks, slow songs are not her forte. She needs the loud, fast paced songs to cover her mistakes.

"Two weeks of slow songs in a row, could be her demise.

Kelly has a fan base of idiots with no taste & limited intelligence.

Brutally true........I've said it before and I'll say it again, America loves a dumb blonde. Especially one with a "sob story". P.T. Barnum was dead right when he said, Nobody ever lost a buck underestimating the taste of the American public." Kellie is living proof.

Seacrest wants Taylor to stand with the group that he thinks is not the bottom three (I think?) There are two groups of three and Taylor is the odd man out.

WTH?

What on earth AI is doing bringing in an opera singer is beyond me.

I next week's theme is love songs (not sure) and that's the connection with Bocelli. Should be interesting, at least :)

Is Seacrest wearing lipstick?

And that looks like "Audrey" from 24 in the background.
