I used to love the Cowboys when I was younger. Then Jerry Jones took over and canned Tom Landry. The day he did that was the day I put them in the same column as the Yankees and Lakers on my permanent dislike list.

Landry needed firing ...... if good coaching is the #1 thing ..... he had lost it the last coupla years..... Tex was going to fire him but Tom went to a radio show, publicly said he would like to coach a coupla more years so he could revive the 'boys ......... he had lost it ...... NO imagination ....... field goals on third down because he had lost count of the down ...... not enough good plays for 2nd and 9 and 3rd and long....... I loved Tom as a person, but he was past his best as coach ....... His best coaching years were the years he did not have the talent while the years he should off walked all over the opponents were his challenges

The day he did that was the day I put them in the same column as the Yankees and Lakers on my permanent dislike list.That was the day that I resumed being a season ticket holder. By 1988, the Cowboys were so bad that I doubt they could even beat Jimmy's Miami Hurricanes, much less most of the NFL competition.
