I used to love the Cowboys when I was younger. Then Jerry Jones took over and canned Tom Landry. The day he did that was the day I put them in the same column as the Yankees and Lakers on my permanent dislike list.

There hasn't been a peep from Terry Glenn since he joined the Cowboys.

Did Landry coach Irvin? Honestly I don't remember. In 1960 he became the first head coach of the Dallas Cowboys and stayed for 29 years (1960-88)
Irvin's rookie year was '88 so... maybe
To: Echo Talon
I think it'll go just like it did in Philly. It'll start out great and then after one bad stretch T.O. won't be able to keep quiet anymore.
To: Doohickey
There wasn't during his first few years with the Pats either.
To: Echo Talon; Doohickey
Yes..Landry did coach Irvin in 1988..Irvin's rookie year and Landry's last year..
To: mainepatsfan
also depends on how much protection Drew gets, Drew can be a little bit of a tough guy too and he isn't gonna put up with T.O. talking trash to him.

An NFC East ping to the Giants fans. Our rival Dallas has gotten T.O...and now Vanderjagt.
What are the odds he might miss though? :P

well, they need to do something you can't leave someone like Bledsoe unprotected.

I can't wait until Peyton Manning joins the Cowboys in 2016..he should be a perfect fit for future head coach Bill Cowher Keep dreaming. Cowher ain't going anywhere.

Landry needed firing ...... if good coaching is the #1 thing ..... he had lost it the last coupla years..... Tex was going to fire him but Tom went to a radio show, publicly said he would like to coach a coupla more years so he could revive the 'boys ......... he had lost it ...... NO imagination ....... field goals on third down because he had lost count of the down ...... not enough good plays for 2nd and 9 and 3rd and long....... I loved Tom as a person, but he was past his best as coach ....... His best coaching years were the years he did not have the talent while the years he should off walked all over the opponents were his challenges

Dallas has TO? Sweet! Now they will be uncompetitive self-mutilating choke artists for at least one season.

Are there any other loud mouth free agents out there the Cowboys can sign? The Colts are going to regret not re-signing Vanderjagt, as are others in need of a kicker for not signing him.
This is good news for the Cowboys.

With the game on the line pretty good.

They may not go to the Super Bowl, but they will be better this year.
