I think Matt was more PO'ed at Busch than Jeff, it was just that Jeff was there. Gordon's pass looked was clean. . .

I agree completely.

Of course I'm irritated, but I am a Gordon fan and that's part of being a fan.

I am no fan of Gordon because I cannot stomach his or Hendrick's politics. BUT I too am irritated because without that spin I would be in first place in FRFL by about fifty points!

You're right that definitely is more precious than anything that occurred on the track.

A get well message to Steve Byrnes......

As you may have noticed, NASCAR on FOX pit reporter Steve Byrnes' left eye has been swollen, and he was not part of the Nextel Cup broadcast from Bristol, Tenn.

On Sunday, he was hospitalized with a viral infection in his left sinus cavity that will not respond to oral antibiotics. In the past three weeks, Steve has visited five different doctors and has been placed on four different oral antibiotics, none of which improved the situation.

The Flash pass of Kenseth was only "clean" because Matt realized that Jeff was in a position to bump-and-run him just like Rubberhead did a few laps prior. Jeff didn't either realize or care that Matt was there the next turn because that was the 2nd-last turn of the race; and even if he did have a mind to let Matt by, there wasn't a whole lot he could have done with McMurray on the outside.

In short, it was one of them Bristol racing deals, and the points don't matter until the fall Loudon race anyway.

You're not supposed to let a game influence your politics! heehee

Don't know if Matt gave a little or if he just went into the last two turns on the last lap a bit fast. It is, like you said, one of those Bristol things. They might forgive and forget, but I'm still irritated at Sr spinning Terry in the last lap several years ago!

And just think, more next week!

Yep Martinsville and Rocketman for qualifying! And, JJ will be back stronger than ever, just watch.

Again?!?!

It's 24 here (for more reasons than one). :)

Do you think Rocket will go for the qualifying again?

I think he will, they've been fooling around between the Charger and the Intrepid for too long now. He said last week they were done with that and going back to the regular setup.

There may not be any points for the pole, but it's always better to start up front, particularly at Bristol or Martinsville. I think if they had qualifying at Bristol he would have taken the pole.

I just hope Flash and Matt have settled down next week. I hesitated to take Happy this week, but I did. And Busch was not an option because of all his other difficulties but somehow he managed to overcome those with a little nudge of the 17. I just find him annoying because when he does interviews he comes across as phony. I think the charm school Roush sent him to didn't get a chance to finish him up and polish him. :)

LOL, didn't polish him huh? I don't think they even got him rough sanded!

I thought maybe Rrocket was going more for setup this year, as opposed to just qualifying good. It is great to start up front, but if you can't stay there, what's the point? I'll flip a coin on him next week.

What nailed me were both of the JJs!

Nemacheck is on O'Reilly to talk about the Indy death yesterday.

O'Reilly seemed clueless, but that's about normal. Front Row Joe spoke about his brother's death and how all the drivers understood the risks going in. Bill kept asking what was the most important thing in racing. Joe tried to answer, basically the things we all know, it's not just the driver, but the crew, the engine, the setup, the communication, all combined. Then we get back to the original comment. ;)You were right, Audrey was innocent. Jack will get out, if not, he will be reborn again next year!LOL

I can't stand BOR, I put him with Kurt Busch. haha

I truly do feel the IRL cars are not as safe as the stock cars. I know they fall apart to lessen the impact but wow, it just seems so severe when they crash.

The 24 thread seems to think Audrey is lying to Jack, we shall see soon if that is true. Oh boy he will really be ticked. I just think he needs something good in his life. I get too involved with this show.

Man.....it was AWESOME! Luxury box is the way to go! Great race too.....I thought the Busch race was tons of fun to watch, and got to see a snow delay, and snowball fights in the pit among crews...what a spectacle! The Nextel race was a gutwrencher as well. It's been 15 years since I've been to a race, and it was my first time at Bristol ever, but it won't be the last. All those people, the atmosphere......man! What a trip!

BOR is a bit over the top. Was listening to the news and didn't change channels. Happened to luck out and catch FRJ.

I know this night version of a soap opera better hurry up and finish. It's wearing a bit thin, but it's very hard to NOT turn it on.LOL

Wow......this man is so lucky to be alive

IRL's Carpenter Released From Hospital Mon Mar 27, 4:58 PM ET

MIAMI - Ed Carpenter, who was involved in the crash that killed rookie Paul Dana at Homestead-Miami Speedway, was released from the hospital Monday.

IRL officials said Carpenter, stepson of league founder Tony George, is recovering from a bruised lung and hasn't been cleared to drive in Sunday's race at St. Petersburg.

Carpenter hit the wall during the morning warmup for the season-opening Toyota Indy 300 on Sunday. His car had nearly come to a halt when Dana's car, which didn't appear to slow down, slammed into his. Dana was pronounced dead two hours later.

Support your local Saturday night short tracks!

Glad you had a good time. Best 2-race combo in a while, plus you managed to stay warm & dry.
