There was a similar case about 25 years ago. An elderly brother and sister in Connecticut drove into New York City and kidnapped a boy coming home from school. They felt they needed someone to take care of them in their old age, and insofar as they had nobody else, they kidnapped a child and turned him into their house servant.

A few years later, the boy was found by the police. The brother and sister were totally unapologetic, justifying their actions to the police by saying, "We're old! Who's going to take care of us?"

In the end, the state took care of them. They both died in prison.

Was the movie "Without a Trace" based on that story? It's such a tear jerker.
