They don't outsource anything. If people died making this episode, they were American. :~D
The short notice won't kill them though, they're used to that.

You remember that year they pulled the stunt on changing episodes on April Fools Day? Everybody was expecting one episode and it was something different? Could this be another one of those deals? If it is, it would be the best prank ever.

"?It's not inconceivable that Hayes could be part of it even after having a stroke."
Yes..or it could be the church speaking for him and maybe Matt and Trey didn't figure it out...but I am just hoping they didn't take advantage of Hayes while he is unable to defend himself.

I'm sure that it was a cult minder that did it, but if Hayes was incapacitated or unaware, I don't think it was a rumor mill getting out of hand kind of thing. An official statement was issued, and even now that's all we have to go on. Hayes hasn't been in front of a camera to say yay or nay yet. It's even right now all speculation as to his true status regarding the show.
This could be an epiphany for Hayes. Here he's found out that his cult has canceled his income stream against his wishes, and I'm sure the pressure will be on by the cult to stick to the program. This could be the best thing to ever happen to Hayes.

A bunch of Korean kids probably died in creating this episode on such short notice.funny you should mention that.... Southpark is one of the very few who do all animations "in house" in Cali.
Kewl? huh?
and if you are going to besmirch my beloved Southpark.....

I can't say I know what's happening, but I really don't think Matt and Trey are just unaware of Hayes's health.

You mean the Elian Gonzalez episode?
To: Dick Vomer
I think I confused SP with American Dad where they had a tribute at the end to all the Korean Kids who died making an episode..

Yes I think that was it. Couldn't remember the episode they did it on. We were expecting a special episode on Terrance and Phillip and it turned out to be Elian Gonzalez or vice versa. It's been a few years now and the memory starts to go ;)

I wasn't a fan then, but I did hear about that.
To: billbears
The episode you're thinking of was when they were supposed to reveal who Cartman's father was after waiting the long break - and instead they played nothing but Terrance and Phillip doing fart jokes.
It was April Fools, and they thought everyone would be highly amused, but people got really mad! :~D

I think it was because the Elian thing went down right around then.

If I recall Comedy Central played a commercial promoting the show with actual angry phone messages they'd received from fans.

How do we know that the Scientology people didn't cause Hayes' stroke with one of their secret procedures?
To: mnehrling
South Park eps only take 6 days to make.

I saw that too. But then what about Stone's comments about the whole flap? Wouldn't he have known Hayes was actually hospitalized?
I'm wondering if the recent new of his hospitalization isn't just saving face.

Of course, that's typical of cult groups that they monitor their followers (not that I'm saying $cientology is a cult group). I'll say it. It's a cult group.

Here's an even better statement from Matt & Trey per CNN:
"So, Scientology, you have won THIS battle, but the million-year war for Earth has just begun," the pair wrote.
"Temporarily anozinizing our episode will NOT stop us from keeping Thetans forever trapped in your pitiful man-bodies. Curses and drat! You have obstructed us for now, but your feeble bid to save humanity will fail! Hail Xenu!!!"
One of CNN's Entertainment reporters also suggested Snoop Dogg as a replacement for Hayes. Chef-izzle would be such a polar opposite, I think it could work!
I hope South Park gives scientology both barrels.
