I am developing a theory that upsets occur in the tourney because of the different dynamic on dark horse teams. Whereas a team like my Orangemen, and Pitt, Kansas etc rely on stars making individual plays, smaller terams like Bradley are forced to learn much better team skills to compete.

In the Tournament, the star-laden teams can be shut down or have sub-par games while the smaller teams with good execution of team skills never loses that ability.

Wichita St. vs. George Mason in the sweet sixteen. I'm sure CBS didn't expect or want that but TOO BAD!

GMU puts green shirts on the paint and egg on the face of CBS. Billy Packer is deeply saddened, along with Chapel Hill's Tar Heel fans on Franklin Street tonight.

Today belongs to the Patriots, and Fairfax.

Go MASON!

Makes up for that 115-85 thing back in '03, the only time Mason ever played UNC-CH before. Two GMU NCAA wins in one year! Sweet 16! I'm starting to think... to hope... final four... is it possible?!?!?

That green mascot's name is GUNston after the home of George Mason, GUNston Hall. Wonder what the NCAA will think about THAT!

When NCAA figures that out they'll probably make him change his name. BTW, Gunston is DA MAN (er, da green fuzzy guy).

I'm openly hoping that more mid-majors make it instead of the big names (minus OSU of course) just so Billy Packer than shut up :)

now OSU is going to get destroyed by Georgetown....can't wait....

GOTTA GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO MY ALMA MATTA!! We are the giant killers in this NCAA tournament. First Michigan State and now the defending National Champions North Carolina Tarheels. Who's afraid of the big bad wolf? NOT GMU!!! WAY TO GO BABY!!! SEE YA IN THE FINAL FOUR!!!!

AND TO THINK THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE SAID MASON DIDN'T EVEN BELONG IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT!!! Well bet those guys are eating some crow now.

Sincerly
Proud George Mason Alumni (Class of 2003)

UConn held on but didn't look impressive again either. Calhoun needs to get these guys going because the competition is only going to get tougher.

yeah and that was about the best game I think UK could have played.....

judging from the stats....

if UK had played like that all year long, they would've won the SEC outright.

'96 Patriot bump! We're in good company. Did you know that Karl Rove attended George Mason University (1973-1975)? He didn't graduate, though.

make that 3 bad shots...

OSU was up 6-3 by going inside and scoring baskets, but now they decide to start shooting bad shots.

Gotta love it.
