We plan to! (Avoiding Asteroids)

That's why we made our telescope system. I have numerous descriptions of our space vessel. None seems adequate to draw the picture properly.

Let's start with the Flying Castle. It is a shape, similar to a flying saucer, of radius one mile.

Within the transparent top hull, and sealed lower hull, the castle and its moat are centered in a slight depression, which is covered with grassy meadows, grain fields and forested land. It is like a small, private valley.

Much activity goes on belowground. There are the infamous lower levels, where reside the forges and factories, and the laboratories (and the health clinic!) and even further below, some creatures of whom we say little, who have been helping us, after their fashion, by excavating tunnels and such.

Within that underground space are also the tubes which convey our spherical elevator cars like a, forgive the analogy, bolus of food being swallowed, and directed to various locations.

Those locations include the arms that connect the Flying Castle to the Thrust Ring, and the connecting supports to Habitats A and B.

All three massive habitats are being swung round the Thrust Ring, for artificial gravity at approximately that of Mars.

One can move through the elevator system from one habitat to another, but each has its own time zone, separated from the otheres by eight hours.

When it is morning in the Castle, it is evening in one Habitat, and late night in the other.
