He wouldn't let me type until they were dry.

"I've heard before some posters have more clout than others ..." If I had clout, how would I know it?

Actually, it was a philosophical question.
What good would clout do me if I am just normally polite and respectful?
Clout only seems to benefit people who want to misbehave.
(Okay, I want to misbehave but I've never developed the habit.)

Serious answer.
I would bet that if you went to the mods over something they would listen to you a lot faster then they would some of us simply because you are polite, respectful, thoughtful, thrifty, clean, reverent and honest.
You are our Eagle Scout poster. That does indeed give you "Clout". A lot more then you probably know or would ever use.

Oh, the politeness comes easy enough.
The "respect" is often forced.

"A lot more then you probably know or would ever use." I'm saving it up for a rainy day.

Another small thought.
Clout only seems to benefit people who want to misbehave.
Quite the opposite is true as well. Clout also keeps in line those who would misbehave.
