Did you know that Kennewick man is 66% certain related to Billy Boid, the actor who played Peregrin Took in the Lord of the Ring?

I guess there was a reason they choose him to play a hobbit!

I would have guessed he resembled Patrick Stewart (Jean Luc Piccard)

It costs about $100-$200 for a male, depending on the number of markers that they chart. I do not know the cost for a female.

Several members of my extended family have done this in order to accurately separate 2 families with the same name -- one of Swedish heritege and one of Swiss heritege. Both families chose a derivitive of the same name when they anglicized their names 300 years ago, and it's caused confusion ever since.

I often wonder how far away we are from dna testing having an effect on health insurance cost. I know that paternity testing has had a huge impact on child custody cases, and immigration/deportation testing is on the rise, so it only seems inevitable that dna testing have an effect on insurance as well.
