I have never heard of crows that thick but gackles are a problem in many parts of the country.

Grackles belong to the same family, corvids: smart, big eaters, ominivores, pesky at times.

I live in the Vancouver, Canada area. The crow population here has exploded in the last 20 years to the point where other small birds are much less common than they were (the gull population has also increased). The only migration these crows ever do is to gather in a flock of thousands about an hour before dusk and fly to the suburb of Burnaby. This phenomenon has been noted enough, especially from cars at evening rush hour, that there is actually a blog called Crows to Burnaby. I can only dream of the cities around here adopting the same solution as Riverton.
