Well, I am Austro-Hungarian on my father's side and we have stuffed cabbage all the time. We call them "Halubki". You have to cook them up with ground beef, a little sausage and rice for the filling.

You also put some kolbasi in with the tomato-type sauce you cook it in for flavor.

Eat the halubki and the kolbasi together with some fresh buttered bread for a real treat.

Is that kind of like what you are talking about?

Oh, yeah. But I had it in the US at a Hungarian festival and it was nothing like in Budapest. Nothing.
