How are things in Glocca Morra?
Is that little brook still leaping there.
Does it still run down to Donny cove,
Through Killybegs, Kilkerry and Kildare?
How are things in Glocca Morra,
Is that willow tree still weeping there?
Does that laddie (lassie) with the twinklin' eye
Come whistlin' (smilin') by
And does he (she) walk away,
Sad and dreamy there not to see me there?
So I ask each weepin' willow
And each brook along the way,
And each lad (lass) that comes a-whistlin' (a-sighin')
Tooralay
How are things in Glocca Morra
This fine day?

Thank you! I knew I wasn't spelling Glocca Morra the way I normally do - chalk up yet another one to my overmuch 'Nettings.

Once upon a time, I was a champion speller, never missed a beat - but caught myself writing "homocide" the other day for "homicide" and that is only one of many. I guess if you expose yourself every day to misspellings, they seep into the subconscious and strike when least expected. *sigh*

Anyway, I love that song! Thanks for help with some of the bridge, which I always get wrong. Oh, well, I'm just humming, anyway. Now I hear Der Bingle ...

"Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral ... too-ra-loo-ra-li ... too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral ... that's an Irish lullaby."

Hey Hit, this is really nice.

So I don't mind listening to it twice. Great job, btw.

Let's ask IT what music he likes.

As in, Irish music or ... otherwise?

I take it there is some music playing? I don't have sound, so I don't know. Just making my own music. Don't even have my CDs to listen to -- all in storage. Don't mind me--I can entertain myself, lol!

Maybe I_T will have some good ideas for you. I didn't want to go any further with my *idea* of Irish songs, because (1) they're probably Irish-American and (2) I don't know the politics of some of the tunes, and don't want to get in "troubles" of my own here, heh.

Cans... the best!

Had a wonderful dinner party last night with my boss, his wife, and another colleague, his wife, my daughter and her college roomate, and family.

Took the day off to bake, clean, and cook.

Menue included:

Corned beef and cabbage

Red potatoes and carrots

Irish Soda Bread

Apple Tart

Irish coffees

A wonderful Merlot

And of course plenty of Harps, Guinness, and a beer one of the guests bought called, Smithwicks. (An Ale bottled by Guinness. A lighter Guinness) I liked it.

We set the table with an ivory linen tablecloth, silver, olive candles, and shamrocks sprinkled about.

One of the best feature about our dining room are the speakers we set up when the house was built. We played plently of Irish music throughout the course of the dinner. It really enhanced the evening.

We started the dinner with prayer, and then plunged into dinner. I was very pleased with the corned beef. Wonderfully tender and flavorful.

We were at the table for about 3 hours dining, conversing, and enjoying the wonderful blessedness of St. Patrick's Day.

Our Diocease had given Dispensation, so all was right with the world.
