In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

1. Suffering the effects of, or derived from, or suggestive of gross intemperance, especially in drinking; as, a crapulous stomach.
2. Marked by gross intemperance, especially in drinking; as, a crapulous old reprobate.
Example sentence:

-- Stephen McKenna, Sonia
Etymology: Crapulous is from Late Latin crapulosus, from Latin crapula, from Greek kraipale, drunkenness and its consequences, nausea, sickness, and headache.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Vastie and I are waiting for the final book of Frankenstein. Comes out in June as you well know, Mr. Liberty.
That sux.
the game of chess? yes, very much so.
i just ordered her other two books from amazon as well as something called the Geographer's Library.
A fun game. Have not played it in years. The sprout wasn't any good at stuff requiring use of a cerebrum.
Oh, that's terrible. He played computer games better than I could.
i actually think you might like the book very much, cyber.
i imagine if there was a video version of chess that involved shooting off weaponry, the Bot and xsboy would excel at it. xsboy lives for Halo2 xboxlive.
Yep.
i want to make The Eight required reading for WFTD class and then have a quiz on it on one of my teacher days! when i love a book, i want everyone else to read it! Like when Arghy read the Historian on my recommendation and then he and i could discuss it.
Actually, The Eight sounds interesting. And, yes, I used to play chess, too.
The Eight IS mystery and intrigue. i swear you will like it.
Cool. I'll get it for me. LOL!
I am in a reading frenzy, I will read this next, it sounds great.......
it is nice and long too, i hate to be done with a book too quickly. i started the new Kay Scarpetta novel, Predator, last night. that won't take long to finish.
Turned out all wrong...might have been better off with mom's looks and dad's brains, but it turned out the other way around......
