I've read some rumors online that movie studios are already starting to jump off the UMD bandwagon, so the PSP may be in for some trouble as well.

Sony keeps making the same mistake with their stupid proprietary formats including Memory Stick, UMD and now Blu-Ray.

I thought it was obvious that the movie studios went overboard in their support for UMD. There's a market there, but not near the market that they invested in with the mass releases. I've seen UMD releases of low-selling dvds, and that makes zero economic marketing sense to me. UMD should stick to the big title releases only, and cut the quantity in half.
