Always keep at least one serviceable gun at a friend or relative's house, or at least hidden where it won't be easily found by the cops after an incident like this one. If, God forbid, I am ever involved in a shooting incident like that one they won't take all of my guns because I'm the only person who knows where some of mine are hidden.
There have been several home invasions in this area by Hispanic gangs within the last couple of years. If you kill or seriously injure one of the gang members while defending yourself the others will often come back later to get revenge. If something like that ever happens to me, I don't intend to be unarmed and helpless when they come no matter what the cops say.
