I'm also observing Lent. Today I had the baked cod platter at Long John Silver. It comes with the baked cod, rice pilaf, corn cobette, coleslaw and a couple of hush puppies. I skipped the coleslaw and hush puppies, but splurged on one piece of battered fried fish for a treat. Today was my weigh in day so I allowed myself one controlled (and counted) splurge. According to my WW eating out guide, my lunch was 12 points. Not too bad. Tonight will be shrimp, veggies and brown rice.

Weight Watchers Core allows you to eat as much food from an approved list as you want until you're satisfied. No counting or measuring! Core foods are basically lean meats, seafood, whole wheat pastas, veggies, fruit, whole grains, nonfat dairy. You also get 35 points to use during the week for non-core foods. I use these for treats like the battered fried fish, breads and other goodies. I've tried recipes with foods that I've never heard of before(like quinoa)and it's been great!

Now I am starving. LOL. The only problem is that I cannot even have a treat during Lent until Easter because I made that broad "I will give up carbs for Lent". It has not been too bad. Tomorrow I will be able to have some meat which will help from today.
