Atkins has to be a way of life. You can not go off and not gain the weight back. Just increase your carbs and eat only the accepted foods.


For me, the key was that it entirely takes you out of your habits, and gives you the immediate reward of weight loss.

Then, you just don't add back the crap into your diet. Not just the sugar crap, but the white or refined carbs.

I must say, short grain (Calrose) brown rice is a sublime joy!

I have not had rice in over 2 years. I am going to check this out.

One of the tings that has really helped me is that just about the time that I went on Atkins my husband was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. He can not have any wheat or most other grains, so I do not bake except for the grandchildren or the holidays and we just do not eat the sugar or flour items.

I am going to look for this rice. I cooked uncle Ben's brown the other night for the chinese i made and had to toss it out. It tasted odd, had a bad texture. I hope calrose is sold in michigan
