It's almost like a cot but theres a strap over your head and foot rests, you do sit ups with it but it supports your head and neck, and your legs. No jarring at all.

My wife and I use the Ab-Lounger. It is very good for the stomach. You can vary the intensity by where you hold the bar or where you rest your feet. You can lay on your side to do you obliques.

If you can sit in a recliner, you can use the Ab-Lounger.

We got the one off of QVC. It has a bar for the hands and is a little better in my opinion.
