It is very fun. I tell my wife it is like having sex in public and nobody noticing. I was astonished when I first learned of the sport/hobby; all this going on and we didn't even know it?
I have devised some rather clever hides including:
1) Suspend a microcache in storm drains on a fishing line.
2) Hanging caches in trees with a retrieving line about 6.5 feet off the ground. EVERYONE looks for the cache on the ground.
3) Take a piece of limb that has fallen, cut it in half, hollow out the center and hide a cache in the hollow. You can use hinges and a latch to hold it shut.
4) Knot holes in trees are superb spots.
It really is fun. I try to hide mine right out in the open, but where the "muggles" as we call them would never look.
