Hannity completely ignores the fact that the UAE provided post 9/11 intelligence that was responsible for the apprehension of AQ and Taliban operatives.

The UAE already services our naval ships in the region. The UAE has assisted with tracking the financial network of AQ.

The UAE has offered a HUGE amount of financial assistance to the US in the wake of Katrina.

Is the UAE perfect? Of course not. But they are much more in our camp than in the camp of our enemies and particularly so since 9/11.

This fiasco sends an awful message to other regimes in the ME that might have wanted to side with the US.

If all that you say is true, then that is good reason to continue to cultivate our relationship with the UAE and to use them in carefully selected circumstances -- but NOT including involvement in the operations of our ports. That should be off limits to them and -- to the greatest extent possible -- any foreign government.
