Google has been asked to explain why the name of England and Arsenal soccer star Ashley Cole has been linked to the word gay in internet search results.
The world's most popular search engine will be asked by the player's legal advisers to justify why typing his name on the site generates "see results for Ashley Cole gay".
Mr Cole has brought a libel action against the News of the World and the Sun over allegations about Premiership players performing sexual acts on each other.
Mr Cole's solicitor has initiated proceedings over the stories which prompted a flurry of internet speculation that he was one of the players in the article.
Mr Cole's solicitor, Graham Shear said: "I am keen to find out whether the decision to include the term 'gay' to the keyword 'Ashley Cole' was an editorial decision or one made by a computer."
A spokeswoman for Google said the alternative search terms were generated automatically.
LOL... now with all these newspaper articles about the lawsuit out there with the terms "Ashley Cole" and "gay", the search results will have even MORE linkage between the terms!!!

The lawyer and his client are idiots - they have now guaranteed a much stronger linkage between "Ashley Cole" and "gay" than ever before on search engines..... way to go, brainiacs!!!

And yet if you type in Wesley Clarke, nothing about "Wesley Clarke gay" comes up.
Weird.
But, there's no "ambulance" (i.e. tragedy) here.
Even the most despicable ambulance chasers are above this.
