I'm considering buying a car, but I don't want a cent of my money to, however indirectly, go to the mideast. I was looking into several alternative fuels. It seems the infrastructure to support most of these fuels is lacking. I did find one fuel--CNG compressed natural gas. It seems there are fueling stations across the country, as well home fueling options available.
I was thinking of either buying a GMC Sierra, or having another American car retrofitted to use CNG. I was hoping that some members here, also sick of supporting the mideast oil structure have experience with CNG or some other viable alternative.
Any advice, thoughts?
This site has info on CNG. http://www.eere.energy.gov/afdc/altfuel/natural_gas.html
with this thread locating all the alternative fuel stations. http://www.eere.energy.gov/afdc/infrastructure/locator.html
Have you had any hands on experience with CNG?
