I bought the movie and have watched it a while back. It is harsh, but there are some tender scenes. I would have liked a directors commentary, but maybe they will do one in a future release.

One of the amazing feats is how their instincts lead them all to the same location after a 70 mile walk inland {to avoid the ice melting as the temperature warms later} to pair up and raise their young in brutal conditions.

I imagine its a great documentary. I just meant that little kids might be adversely affected by it. I think at some point kids need to know what the real world is like for animals, regarding the 'food chain', but 4 year olds don't need it yet. I think my sister thought it was some animated film and it wasn't. She should have paid more attention. :)
