Let me get this straight. They contend that its not grossing well, and yet they think it'll draw viewers?

Our house remains an Oscar free zone. Last watched in the early 70's.

WTF cares about the oscars?

Anyone who wastes time watching this idiotic display of hollyweird self aggrandizement is a bloody fool of the lowest order. Better to watch paint dry...certainly more useful.

Is Brokeback Mountain as good as Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, A Man for All Seasons, Patton, the Godfather, or Braveheart?

What's wrong with these people???

Movies no one saw, stars no one heard of and a host people can't relate to. Yep, its going to be a blockbusters Oscars' evening! (laughing)

I didn't realize this until now, three of the best picture noms are to movies based (however loosely, and I really hav no clue about how much that might be) on real life events. Is that unusual?

I always watch the Oscars, even in the worst years. Not this year. It's not just Brokeback Mountain, it's the combined political and social message that the nominated films send this year, and the message is: WE'LL show YOU who runs the culture.

I'd watch a test pattern before I watch the Oscars this year.
