Really? I love that movie. I watch it at least once a year (around halloween time).
To: Maximus_Ridiculousness
That movie gives me the creeps "REDRUM".
Ever been to Estes Park?

You know what's more scarier than the poltergeist tree?
To: Supernatural
No, but I would have loved to when I was living in CO.

What is the most chilling movie you have ever seen?
In my younger days, the original "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" spooked me.
I hate the "newer" thrillers like "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", parts 1 through forever. Too much blood and gore. I much prefer the older movies where that kind of thing was mostly implied.
The old "Horrors of the Black Museum" caused me to lose a lot of sleep.

Colorado is a pretty big state. Estes park is only about 40 miles north of Denver. Maybe less.
Where did you live there?

I don't think I have a one favorite, but the most chilling ones would be the older b/w movies like Psycho and The Haunting. The Shining is at the top too.
I saw Invasion of the Body Snatchers in the theatre when it came out. That was pretty freaky.

I lived in Englewood, so not too far away.

BTW, thank you for coming to my rescue, guys. Scary Tree is standing down, for now.

Always a pleasure to aid a lady in distress. I used to be a Boy Scout. Old habits are hard to give up.
When I lived in Wyoming, just 11 miles from the CO border, The Thompson Canyon (from the Big Thompson River), Ft. Collins and Estes Park were all part of my regular stomping grounds. Ft. Collins was 50 miles south and Denver was 100 miles south.
I was at the Thompson Canyon the day before it flooded and killed about 200 people. There were diners across the river (actually a stream) where people sought refuge from the storm. Flash flood wiped them all out. When I say across the river, I mean built on like a bridge that crossed the river. On top of the structure was a diner. Several of them were along the canyon.

That's cool. My Hubby is an Eagle Scout--but he's not here to keep me safe this weekend. Oh well. But I got you guyz!!!
Just for fun, here is a picture of Scary Tree I just took. Look how dark it is outside, and it's only 12:30pm!!! EEEK!
To: Maximus_Ridiculousness
Ok, what transpired after I departed, with all of the pulled threads??

Gee, that sky looks just about as black as when I lived in Florida and a hurricane came along. It was almost as black as night at 2 in the afternoon.

Dunno, I was hoping you did. Wonder what colorful events transpired while I was away. I seem to always miss all the action.
