Spinal tap? Wow. Never had that. I was hospitalized for 3 days once for possible appendicitis. Turned out it was a false alarm. Irritable bowl syndrome runs in the family, unfortunately. (Not to gross you out or anything...)
To: Allegra
Howdy!!! My hubby spent 16 months in Iraq, so I have a pretty good idea what the time is right off the bat. Are you military or civilian? Can't tell from your profile. God bless you.
To: Maximus_Ridiculousness
Howdy back! I'm a civilian - going on my third year here. (Yes, I am warped. LOL)
Please thank your husband for me. I love our troops. They're doing a fantastic job and I detest the way the media impugns this whole thing.

LOL. Bummer.
I see your profile says you're a Cali Girl, what part?
To: Allegra
Wowee!!! What do you do there? Transation? Media? You are so brave. Please stay safe.
To: txroadkill
Trapped in Silicon Valley...
To: Maximus_Ridiculousness
OOPS. Transation=Translation.

I went to high school in the Bay area (east bay) and then moved to Yorba Linda, I could see Nixon's grave if I stood on our roof! I miss California, not the political stuff, but I miss the weather and the food. I would give anything for a Carl's Jr.
To: txroadkill
Cool. I went to Northgate High School in Walnut Creek. Graduated in 1987.
To: Maximus_Ridiculousness
Pinole Valley High...1990...was '87 the year of the earthquake?

I think I need to go to bed, it's 4am here. I hope you do OK with the spooky tree and the storm. Thank your husband for his service for me.
To: txroadkill
I'll be OK. Thanks for stopping by.

I work for a defense contractor and I'm in procurement.
In other words, I buy stuff and make sure it gets to where it needs to be. ;-) Mostly involved in camp constructions, water plant overhauls, etc.
(Media? I would NEVER be associated with those fiction spinners. LOL)

You have me guessing. KBR? Wait, that's not defense. You don't have to answer that. Good luck to you. Be safe.
To: Maximus_Ridiculousness
Well, actually, KBR is a DoD contractor, but I'm not with them. I did my first 14 months over here with them, though.
After you've done about a year with KBR, other companies come calling and offering more money and I'm a shameless capitalist. :-)

So you guys would advocate getting one?
Absolutly! Its low impact is great for those of us with bad knees, and it is really fun. You can work yourself as easy or as hard as you want and still get results.
To: Allegra
and I'm a shameless capitalist. :-)One of your finest qualities.
That and your knowledge of useless trivia!!
Go TEAM!

I read your profile - and wondered if they have Straight Day at Disneyland now? Wouldn't that be a nice change of pace - but we'd probably get sued for discrimination.
Ugh.
PS... I also thought Adult Day would be fun. No kids - just us over 30 (40?) types that think we're still kids. Oh - and let the drinks flow!
;-)
