There are only 10 kinds of people in the world...
Those who know binary, and those who don't.
.
I heard an good one at work...I don't know if it's true...
One of the IT geeks told the VP of Marketing that the problem with his network connection was that the network cable was twisted up and bent under his desk. He explained that the "zeros" don't have problems with this, but the "ones" can jam in a sharp corner and cause the connection to clog up.

The graphs in
The DUmpers will probably have them copied and posted in 20 minutes.

Just looking ahead, we will pass by several prominent teams that we have glanced at a lot.
We pass SISD in two weeks or less.
We pass the Vampire Piggy Hunters in less than a week.
We will pass the International High IQ Society in less than a week.
And we will pass Totally In To Science in less than two weeks. Their output has really been sagging as members flop out of the team.
Everyone please give them a pat on the ... back, not just lip service, as we blow right on by.

Don't get discouraged, this drop is really meaningless. Go look at the top 25 teams--heck, look at team default. Everyone's output is down right now (with the exception of 2 or 3 teams out of 25), which tells me either Stanford's released an unusual proportion of big jobs that we're waiting to wrap up (like my two 400-pointers) or the Stanford servers aren't answering correctly. Since I haven't heard anything about the servers, I think it's the first.
Don't try to compare DU to us here, they're putzing along still spitting out the smaller jobs. I expect in the next couple days they will enter a point slump even more extreme and long-lasting than this, since they have fewer computers and my guess is generally slower computers.

Speaking of good news, we have several new folders that have joined us this week or have posted their first work units.
Thanks to MontanaBeth, Recovering_Hermit, IoCaster, sirtaurus and Clintons_Are_White_Trash for joining our merry little band of folders.
Also, if anyone knows the folders Chris_Primavera or AndyKaz would you ping them to see if he wants on our FReepers ping list?

I suspect that most of the DU guys and gals don't have jobs and are working off of computers their parents bought them.

Something happened and I lost a work unit that was 81% complete. The odd thing is that I had an IP address conflict on my home network that was coincident with this work unit loss. This is the second time this has happened.
I believe the random method my router uses to assign network addresses might be causing a conflict if I reboot my router and the address assigned to a folding PC changes while F@H is running.
I rebooted everything, the network conflict disappeared and everything started working again. The PC that caused the problem downloaded a new WU and started working on it.
I believe I can force the network address assignment that occurs by connecting the PCs to the router in a specific order, but I can't do that if the router reboot occurs when I'm not around. (Power failure.)

I don't need to use short cords. The 19 year-old Technical Sales Genius at Best Buy told me that the 6' premium monster-cable with gold plated contacts is the optimum choice for my system....and it only costs $12 more then the standard 6' cable.

Thanks! - AndyKaz
I originally installed it on my machine at work. I just added it to my machine at home now - I think there were 968 active CPUs on our team when I checked this morning!
