I'm happy the Olympics are ending this weekend. Little girls on skates and middle-class punks on skis and snowboards aren't my style of sports folk. Generally, if there's no ball involved, I'm not into it. Another thing I won't miss is this pretentious Torino thing. Very much in the snooty vein of all that Starbucks java jive - ventis, grandes, canticos and the like - the practice of using the Italian pronunciation of the host city seems gimmicky and phony in the extreme. Olympics broadcaster NBC does it, as do USA Today and several other media outlets. They're holding the thing in Turin, people, Turin. We don't talk about the Shroud of Torino, do we?

Cynicism is for idiots.
I asked Father Frank and he said it must be north of the city:)I asked on the air and one person called to say that Jay Leno covered it.
Well I like what he had to say.

Alright, Alright , you beat me down, I'm usually against cynicism, but I guess I may have forgot my sense of humor for a bit.
