Con artists have been with us since the dawn of civilization.Some are completely devoid of conscience and can,as a result of that absence,lie as convincingly as the typical person can tell the truth,if not more convincingly.
And it's not just women who can be conned like this...just think back to Jack Abbott and Norman Mailer,for example.
