In both Connecticut and parts of New York State frosts after April are rare

horsepuckey ! - when my boy was born in May 13th of 89, we had six inches of snow fall on the 12th

Youre a fool in Rochester if you plant your garden before memorial day

In both Connecticut and parts of New York State frosts after April are rare, but in 1816 frosts were recorded every month of the year (Lamb 1816, Neil Davids).

*Parts* of NYS? How about *part* like in singular. I just can't get over how some people seem to think that NYC is all of NY that matters and the rest is just an add on.

You're right about the planting dates; a few years ago we had lake-effect on Mother's Day and went to church through 3-4 inches of snow. Personally, I don't see how they get anything to grow north of the line from Pulaski to Utica to Albany. It's COLD up in those mountains.
