As regards to the baby's elevated bilirubin level, my wife says to put the baby in the window in nothing but his diaper. Try using the sun to bring down those bili levels. Also, you may want to try giving him a little formula. The breast milk adds to the jaundice, she says.
The above all comes from my wife. She's taken you under her prayer-wing and feels entitled to offer you motherly advice.
Here's Vlad's picture - I realized we'd left them behind in February :-).
Thank your wife for the advice and the prayers, and I will certainly work on giving Vlad more exposure to the sun. We're going to the park this afternoon while the girls are at their Girl Scouts meeting. I think his eyes look less yellow today than they did earlier in the week, but that might be my imagination. I hesitate to give him formula, because I could get mastitis if he's not nursing steadily, and that was a major bummer the last time!
I like the suggestion about the camp fees and the barbecue! Maybe when we have the godparents (also in the Knights) over after the baptism. I also just discovered that my second daughter is too big for the first daughter's First Communion dress, so I'll give the older dress to the parish and get a new one (or at least "new to us") in a larger size.
