I think I put Belle's in a bucket and carried it across the road and dumped it. No burying it around here:)

I think I'm going to have to reschedule my farriers next appointment. The six week schedule fell the week after the CTR I'm going to (sent the entry form in today:), I'm going to move it up to the week before, but schedule it for the Mon, before the Fri I leave. That way I've got 5 days before the competiton. Remember last year it fell the week before and that's when I had trouble with the shoe job and he was lame, etc. But we got him over it in time to go, but it worried me the whole ride....To tell the truth, I'm not sure which direction to go in. I guess I could do it at 4 wks. but I don't know if he'd have enough growth to re shoe then....

I don't know what to do.

Becky

That is a predicament! I don't know what to tell ya. 4 weeks seems a bit soon to me too, but you don't want to risk him having loose shoes going into a ride either. Heck, they shoe racehorses every 2wks, so it IS apparently do-able. I guess I'd go ahead and keep the 4wk appointment and make a decision the weekend before, based on how his feet look then. The good thing about the NB shoes is that they have 6 nail holes instead of just 4, so you CAN move the nails around and get them in better spots if you need to. My farrier only uses 3 on each side anyways. I can't remember but I think your guy did too. Are you going to go ahead and get him to put the NB Elite hind shoes on him this time too?
