The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I'd be tempted to call them every day, several times, to report every time my horse takes a shit!
ROTFL! You just made me give my monitor a lovely shower! I'd say that's a great plan! I can see this idea to be a good one in some way albeit, a small one on a large industry level, but backyard horse owners and livestock owners? C'mon man! Be serious! Actually no, it's stupid, because they themselves said that it's not going to control the spread of disease, which is the only way in which it would be useful.

And I honestly think they would be so overwhelmed with data if everyone cooperated, that they couldn't possibly sort through it let alone enforce it.
I'm thinkin' that you're right. I haven't heard of this before tonight, (I don't know what rock I've been hiding under)and I can't believe that they're getting away with it.

I've been avoiding dealing with it for about a month, since I first started seeing it, and I've only seen it on FR... and, I might add... it's not been as popular a subject as you might think and the threads have been rather complicated and off track, as I alluded to on that thread.

I will say that because of the fact I've only seen it discussed in rather paranoid rants on FreeRepublic, I have been doubtful that it was a real issue. It seems to be big only in moonbat conspiracy circles so I disregarded it. But like Mel Gibson said in Conspiracy Theory... "I only have to be right once".

This is true. I tend to be wary of things that circulate just on the internet, and I haven't heard about it in the paper or anything. But have you seen anything about it in the day to day?

chuckling. No . I thought it was HB 4167 but that doesn't look anything like what we are discussing. I'm gonna add Solomons name to that (my congressman) and give all 3 a what's up call tomorrow.

I'm going to ask my trainer about it, and see if she knows anything. She's the only horse person around here that I've been talking to as of late.

Been a down day here. Waiting on Jenny and Mack still not up to par. I worked in my garden. I have soooooo many seeds that if these sprout and we get a freeze I've got plenty more, so I thought what the heck. Now waiting on AI:) I was just checking that thread.

And FTM, everyone was awfully absent today:). I checked the thread several times.

I did get an e-mail from an acquaintence. Remember before Christmas a lady came and rode with me that I had rode with (Hey, it's raining here,yeah), at the ride. She had just lost her husband a few months before the ride. Well she's engaged now (I'd say she's my age or a bit older), to a man she meet on e-harmony....She's selling her house and moving to La. Is it just me or is that a bit quick??? I'm a bit worried about this, but I don't know her well enough to say anything. I'll see her at the JZ ride if I make it.

Glad you're getting rain, thanks for the baby update :~D

Seems fast, but you never know, it might still be good. Online long distance relationships are expensive to drag out... ecurbh and I had to decide to "go" or "no-go" and commit to it a lot faster than we might have if we had the luxury of living in the same town and dating slowly.

We have had really strong winds. We were in the front lobby this afternoon and I saw what looked like a small animal fly thru the air. A woman ran up and grabbed it and put the wig back on. I felt bad for her. I know she was really embarressed and probably hoped no one saw but there was bunch of us, up there. Anyway, that's how windy it was today.
