This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
You haven't named any names... no real need to give yours if they don't know who everyone is anyhow.
I think most of them know who each other are. The funny thing, when Mack set up the yahoo account he signed up under "Frank Wilson":). Not even close:) Sometimes on some of my posts Frank Wilson shows up and sometimes freeperbigmack shows up.
If the mod comes on and says I have to give my last name I will politely leave:). But obviously she's figured out who is being referred to even tho "I"M not the one that gave the details:)
Becky
I wondered about that name showing up :~D
She knows who's being referred to. A little curious if she's going to admit that and explain what he was trying to accomplish.
My Aunt used to take us kids somewhere over in Azle with the cousin my sister so lovingly mentions in another post:') I loved it when momma would get scared when a hurricane in the atlantic and take us to Fort Worth for the summer. Swimming was a priority. It was fun but what was cool was that after we were done she gave us each a quarter for a candy bar and coke. These were rare treats because because we didn't get them much at home.
Heck , we didn't need any swimming lessons. My dad would just pick us up and throw us in and tell us to swim or drown. Kind of funny caz all we had to do was stand up but we laughed and made a big deal of it because we wanted him to see us "swim".
Good for them. I'll be there. I'm taking a few days off. I might get fired though. If that happens, I'm taking the whole summer off:')
I think those low pants make girls look like they have big butts and I don't need any help in that department.
I think you killed that forum. :~D
Depends on the cut and the build of the girl... Some of them can make even a shapely girl look like she has the butt of a 12 year old boy.
Even the small girls look fat in them. IMO. They wear those big silver and black dog collar belts and they just look big butted. If you really look at them they aren't though.
I agree it's not flattering.
I heard an assessment of whole fashion trend once that makes a lot of sense, in a rather sick way... the little low tight pants and little tight shirts with their belly showing, often with big huge clunky shoes... they make young women look like they have just suddenly grown up, like they are bursting out of their little girl clothes that might have fit them yesterday... and the shoes enhance a cartoonish little girl look. Their point was it was a look that was borderline pedophilia in it's appeal.
I don't think that's what girls are thinking when they put the clothes on, but when I look at them, I think there is some truth in the theory that says that's exactly what was behind the design of the fad.
That is concerning. Sadly, kids don't have much choice on the racks.
I wish my MIL would move down here. I don't sew but she is so talented. I would like her to pass that gift on to my granddaughters.
I think they have choices. I go through stores and you can still buy normal t shirts and normal levis if you want. They don't want. :~)
I hope you are right. I just take their word for it. I have to shop in the back of the store where they keep the elastic:')
Heh - me too. :~D
LOL. it is kind of quiet over there isn't it:)
Becky
Well, it picked up a ~little~ after I posted that. But you do seem to have stopped most other conversation ;~)
I imagine everyone's waiting to see where it goes:) I've done that here on FR before.
I had to leave for awhile to watch a baseball game.

I found this site on a "modest swimwear" search. The comments are hilarious. For the record, I don't think the suits are all that bad, at least from a sun protection standpoint, (I have red hair and freckles and my kids are light skinned and blonde) but I doubt I would make them wear something like that. When they were little, they did wear once piece suits that were similar to those posted on this site, so they wouldn't get burned.
