This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Nope. Got to go see someone about my blood pressure, which is fine until I get around dentists:'(
Nice
Oh, good. :'). The state has already cashed my check so I guess that is a good sign.
Where our lake lot is they just spring out of the shrubs. I'm always amazed how high they can jump.
My pasture fence is at least six feet, and they can jump it from a standstill. There's a doe that crosses over and across the road just about every night I think. I can see her from the porch when there's a bright moon out. She's only snagged and pulled down the top electric tape twice ;~D
I heard somewhere that fence has to be at least 8 feet and some have been known to get over even that. We have drove late at night before getting there. You have to really watch for them. Foggy nights, we have just pulled over.
JJ (my six year old grandson) says he doesn't have any homework, goes to bed around 10 and doesn't take baths. Sounds ok to me:')
JJ must be related to my grandson :)
Well, they are all clean and sleeping. Grandpa came in:')
I tried to order those saddle bags on line. My security wouldn't let me.
Everyone have some great plans?
I am going out of town, and will probably not be on the live Kentucky Derby thread. You all have a good one.
Good morning to you too:)
I'm hoping to get a lot of riding in this weekend but we have rain forecast everyday.
Today I am going with Jenny, Blake and Tucker to the Pizza Station for a school outing, end of year stuff. If it's not raining this afternoon I will ride.
Becky
I will probably be asleep. *sigh*
Do you have a country catalog? Can I have the 800 number?
The appy that I'm riding now is the most bombproof horse that I have ever ridden. He'll run over anything, go by anything, go through anything... just doesn't care. It's such a change from that black mare that I've ridden who would take off at the drop of a hat.
I'm going camping tonight. (We are putting up a tent for the boys in the back yard:')
Hey, I can understand that. High speed drills don't exactly have a calming effect on me either. I heard something on Paul Harvey the other day about high blood pressure and he was saying that there was a new study out that said that most people with moderate high blood pressure responded just as well to a diuretic as they did to blood pressure medicine. I don't know if that's any better or not, but I just thought I'd throw that little tidbit out there.
Horses like that are always a pleasure to ride. No wonder he's such a good schooling horse.
You talking about the Country Supply catalog?
From the voice of experience:), there can be (maybe not for everyone), worse side effects from a diuretic then the blood pressure medicine.
