This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I love to mow, and even though we don't have quite so much rock, we still beat our mower up keeping our back forty mowed.
My old one was 3 years old and ran as good as when it was new, and I used it alot. I had to replace the ball that is on the end once, but that was about it. The lines last forever too, and will cut thru really thick stuff. I'm heading out to give it a try now:)
Becky
have fun :~D Feel free to give us pictures of your work :~D
KInd of. I'm a toe dipper. I'm opening in phases. I plan to start 2x a week, evening classes for nurse aides in July. Once I get that running good I'll add a medication class. Next year I'll start day classes. I only want to teach 2-3 days a week. I'm also waiting on Josh
(my son)to graduate.. He wants to work for me. Don't know if I can afford him or not though:')
That will work, but I believe in redundancy. I have on of these on a ring on my seatbelt buckle:
The cylindrical part is an automatic glass punch. Placing the black end on the left on the window, and press down with 12 pounds of force. That cocks and fires a centerpunch, breaking the glass. The black clip, which can be attached to a ring or keychain, is pulled away to expose a shielded seatbelt cutter.
And, speaking of cutting seatbelts, I carry one of these on my keychain (along with a couple of other gadgets):
How's the jeep?
Keep it in your glove box. That way you always know where it's at.
Am I too late?:')
What are you doing to that horse?:') I'm so glad he's doing better.
Oh yeah, he looks real scared lol
Okie has an "I don't care what you do" side and a "what is this. I never done this" side when it comes to fly spray so I start in the middle.

Hair told me once but I forgot. How much does it cost to send a knife? Is that still what the guys need?
Before.
After.
Becky
If you're talking about what it costs to mail a knife overseas, it's about $8. The $15 knives we send to the Air Force in the USA cost $1.60 for postage. (And those are very good $15 dollar knives, due to our special arrangement with Camillus Cutlery.)
I'm afraid the two Byrd harps have been spoken for, but I have a consolation prize. Your choice of a very nice, but small (3" blade) CRKT pocket knife, or some snazzy wrap-around shooting glasses.
I'll make sure to stop by here with more freebies when I get them. I know I have a Swiss Army ball cap somewhere. Buy lots of stuff, get lots of promotional items.
So around $23 total to send a knife to a troop overseas... Is I think what Cindy was asking :~D
Oh - I can see the difference, looks a lot better! Nice mower :~D
Yeah what the knife costs, plus postage
He's totaling my bill right now. I'm going to get the knife and holster. I don't know if I can wear it riding but I can use it for something else. I'll tack on a donation. Been meaning to anyway.
