The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I live in northern Nevada and I love it. I can't imagine living anywhere else now and I've lived in California, Georgia, Alabama, Oregon and North Carolina (as well as Germany)

And I know I've asked before... but you don't know anyone named Cammarano showing Appaloosas from Elko? With both of the elders that I knew dead now, I wonder if any of the kids still even own the ranch or breed and show still.

The elders are the ones that sent my mustang to me that was shot on/near their land.

No, I don't recall you ever asking me that. I don't know them but can do some checking - at least see if they are members of the ApHC and/or have a ranch here in Nevada.

Apparently there is a Maria who lives in Silver Creek NV and a Danielle who showed and placed in 2004 on appaloosas.

Maria is a familiar name - the daughter of the woman I knew! Danielle I don't know. Maybe she is a daughter of one of the siblings :~D.

No, no name. He's probably about 3 years old now. He is the only original Aracauna (sp) I have left from the ones I ordered from a hatchery. Until last week he was the ONLY chicken I had. A friend brought me 3, more roosters last week, only 2 are still around.. I'm feeling a bit sad for this one. The new roosters, are being very aggressive towards this one. They've been keeping him chased out of the barn. While he was the only one left he always hung out with Rock. Now he only gets to the barn when those other two are out. I may wring their necks:). Chickens are so cliquish.

Harley chases him out of his run. Pins his ears at him and just charges at him. I think Rocky likes him tho, just the way the rooster will sit in the corner of his stall hand Rocky stands with his head hanging over him, like a mare with a foal:)

how do you tell who they are responding too?

I hate when forums don't address the specific post. The only way we know they're talking about you is they mentioned shoes. All the others posted have been barefoot horses, it's a barefoot thread :~D

I think I'm with you... there's a couple farriers on there whose posts I really liked, and I was hoping for their input, but I guess my issue didn't interest them.
