I'm about to reach 10,000 points, and I only have a single CPU! Have to throw a party or something

I've seen a few people ask about extra electrticity usage while doing their Folding but don't recall seeing any discussion about it.

My UPS reports watt usage via usb port and the APC monitoring tool. It barks if I get all 3 machines over 600 watts (which occurs if I fold on my main machine over 60%). That said, while it's not very accurate, I found about a 35 watt boost when my machines are folding. YMMV. Of course, I also run late model CPUs so again, YMMV.

3PM Update: 9,540

We're over 58k points for the day at FAHstats with one more update to go. Unless something really odd happens we'll crack the 60k/day milestone.

Rub it in :) My laptop gets me 75 points per day on average and I'm happy as can be every time a WU completes :)

"How in the world do you get only 1 point on a wu?"

AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH! - don't jinx me, Papa.

Both of my systems are currently working on that same protein - and they are slooooow - days to complete.

However, the faster CPU of the 2 just finished that same protein earlier this week and it did get credited with 404 points..

I hope yours was just an update glitch & you get full credit when recalculated.

You know, after looking at the rosters of some of the teams above us, I don't

know what amazes me more, the fact we have over 40 10,000+ point members, or the fact we have over 200 1,000+ members. This is truly one outstanding

group of people we have here. And, for me, it's a lot of fun.

My next personal goal, is to reach 1,000,000 points, before they do.

Your forcasted to hit 1m on 3/17. DU will hit it about a week later, on 3/23.
Klutz PPD = 17895
DU PPD = 16627

I can't help but laugh at those hapless fools.

The machine I measured is running an Athlon XP 1800. Maybe tommorow I'll measure the difference on the other: Pentium 3GHz.

Klutz, I have seen the reference to adjusting the %CPU several times. I am running the console/windows process on my computeres. How do I adjust the %CPU on those applications?

BTW, whoever it was that recommended turning my laptop on it's side to help keep it cool, it is working great. Thanks.

What an amazingly beutiful ship. Little not Ronald Reagan - the supposed political analyst, and left-wing cry baby- must really hate that this ship has his daddy's name.

I'm not one of the giants, but I will say THANKS for being part of the team. It takes all us little guys to help the giants put our team in the top 50.
