I'm not watching as much because I don't like the way the events aired as split up. Too much switching back and forth from one event to the other which means that when it comes to the events you are really interested in you may end up having to watch for about 4 hours. Not to mention that the media announces the results hours before the events are actually aired.

The coverage is really awful. The tearjerker stories run longer that the actual events. I watched a 30-min special on the 1994 Olympics!

What I've noticed is that NBC is showing the top 3-5 performers for the event plus the American contingent. Like I just watched Bobsledding. They showed I think three runs -- the two Germans who are in first and second, and then the American team (who is currently in third.) Then they switched to ski jumping and showed the Americans (who are doing dismally) and the top three contenders for medals.
It's a hell of a lot better than hearing 40 mins of some SOB story about a Norwegian ice skater that ends up coming in 18th place.
