To: Professional Engineer

You know, a PE license is very difficult to study for and pass. I never did, but I know someone who just got her Phd in Mechanical Engineering who couldn't pass it.

A lot depends on your field of study. In my experience, the PE is geared for CE with a smattering of ME stuck in between. It's not geared for the EE or IE or any other engineering disciplines. There should be fields of expertise for the PE exam, like PE mechanical, PE civil, PE electrical, etc.
