Oh man. I've got a donor bone. I also have an autoimmune disorder and I can't fight diseases and infections off. IF I get something from the donor bone, I might not be able to fight it off.

I was in an accident a couple of months ago and will probably need two more surgeries. I was hoping to use donor bones for them too. When I had the first one, they took bone from my own hip and that was one of the worst pains I've ever had, so when they did the second one they asked me if I wanted a cadaver bone instead. I said "heck yes", because I didn't want to go through that pain again. Now, I have to make a choice between suffering from 7 inches removed from my own bone or take a chance with a donor bone.

My wife has had doner bone implant for several years without a problem.
