New Bond Craig failed as tough guy? (hardly)
Sundy Mirror ^

EXCLUSIVE: THE NAME'S BOND.. BROKE BOND BIFF! 007 Craig loses two front teeth in first fight scene BASH! The baddie who whacked him was only a henchman

Craig, 37, was in Prague filming the remake of Casino Royale when the stunt went wrong.

As the shaken star staggered backwards clutching his bleeding mouth, cameramen thought it was a brilliant piece of acting.

But they quickly realised the new 007 was really hurt. His injuries were so bad local dentistry experts could not treat him. So Craig's dentist was flown out from London for emergency surgery in the Czech capital Prague.

An insider said: "Daniel was filming with some minor actors when he got hit in the face. He was reeling from a heavy blow and staggered back holding his face.

"He put his hand to his mouth but the blood started to seep through his fingers - it was horrible. He did not make a fuss though, and fortunately the accident will not affect the film.

"He soon got back to work, and will just have to wear a gumshield during action scenes for the film.

Drudge Report headline says that Craig doesn't make the grade as a tough guy?

Craig looses two front teeth, doesn't complain, and still shows up the work ready for more action. Excuse me, but what is the definition of tough guy? Especially in today's world of actor/entertainers?

Should he have had an arm cut off with a swinging sword and quipped, "It's just a flesh wound."?????

I wonder how Mr. I Hate Guns feels about being James Bond?

He convinced me in Munich that he could certainly act the tough guy...

They couldn't find a dentist in all of London, but could find one in Prague? That's hard to believe. I've seen a few folks with Czech dental work. Russian was better. But times have changed.

I just keep hearing it now, "When fists are outlwawed, only outlaws will have fists!"

Maybe someone should smack Drudge for such a bad title.

"A source said the incident happened at the beginning of the month. He added: "Daniel was trying to say, 'I'm all right', but he could barely speak. It was obvious he was in a lot of pain.

No local dentist said they could repair Daniel's teeth properly at such short notice so producers flew his personal dentist in. He had to wait a few hours before his dentist could get to Prague, but afterwards he was almost as good as new."

Makes sense. There are highly specialized dentists for such an industry. Any minute changes will affect performance (especially for those playing a wind instrument, or singers who avoid face lifts/nose jobs...obviously some entertainers change their nose). Many noted musicians have molds made of their teeth just in case they do need dental surgery/dentures or the like. I guess that actors or news anchors (maybe even disc jockeys) also keep a personal dentist on the Rolodex.

Write it into the script. I mean, I personally would go to see "Casino Royale" just to see and hear Craig singing, "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, my two front teeth, my two front teeth...."

I hope they actually use the footage of the accident if it's so "brilliant". Mel Gibson's good at it, but sometimes it's hard to fake pain.

I wonder if they outsourced these minor roles to local talent. Stunt fights need professional stunt men.

Grace Jones reportedly knocked a guy out in a staged fight scene in the second Conan movie.

To be honest, in James Bond novels, James rarely shot someone. However, I do agree about how hypocritical these left wing actors and actresses are in making violent movies and speaking out against guns etc.
Maybe VPOTUS Cheney should be the next Bond.

The movie is scheduled to be released Nov 16th, 2006. They better hurry.

"To be honest, in James Bond novels, James rarely shot someone."

Violence is so poorly understood in movies and tv shows. What fantasy is shown is grossly glamorized/stylized that it's perversion is closer to how pornography offends the reality of sexual intercourse.

Watching +99% of what passes for media "entertainment", one would conclude that anyone could and would settle all of their anxious matters of friction with a quick double tap to center mass and one in the head. What a crock. How many real encounters of espionage far more dangerous than a fictional novel have spies promiscuously spraying hot lead into all of their exact-opposite-in-every-way adversaries?

Perhaps this is why today's terrorists, so heavily doped up on glamorized violence for a quick solution propaganda, are quickly dropping like flies when confronted with a well-ordered and highly trained police-like fighting force so very concerned with discerning right from wrong and good guys from bullet-sponge-worthy targets.
