'Bush boys' leave unpaid hospital bills in Canada Associated Press Published 6:49 am PST Friday, February 17, 2006 VERNON, British Columbia - The "bush boys," two young men from Roseville who convinced residents and authorities in the Okanagan region for a time that they had been raised in the woods, owe more than $43,000 in unpaid hospital bills. Kyle Horn and his younger brother Roen racked up about $58,700 in of medical costs at Vernon Jubilee Hospital before they returned home to Roseville two years ago. Click here for more... Authorities say the boys' father, Rodger Horn, convinced the U.S. insurance company that covered the expenses to give the money to him instead of the government health agency that runs the hospital. The father paid the health authority less than $9,100 before he filed for bankruptcy protection last August, said Chris Mazurkewich, acting chief operating officer for the Okanagan region. "I'm a little annoyed that taxpayers are ripped off by the boys' father," Mazurkewich said. "I don't have any sympathy. The insurance company paid him money to pay us. He somehow paid for other things and not us." The Horn brothers initially gave their names as Tom and Will Green and enchanted the province in late 2003 with a tale of growing up in isolation near Revelstoke. In reality they had run away from their home in California, where the younger brother, then 16, was facing treatment for an eating disorder. Standing 6-foot-1, Roen Horn, was admitted to Vernon Jubilee weighing less than 90 pounds. He spent 33 days in hospital at a cost of about $1,730 a day. \

Just your usual California trailer trash con-artist scam. These are the same riff raff as plaintiffs in endless lawsuit frauds, rip-offs, and you-name-it criminal activities.
