I'm late to the party again. Sorry I missed you, had already gone to bed. Trying to catch up and see what went on after I retired.
I went for my training today to get a concealed carry permit. The class took most of the day, but the good news is that I can still hit the target.
Good for you. I've thought about it but decided it's too expensive. Here you can carry in your auto as if it were your home. A friend of mine at work just got his. When I say just recently I mean this past Friday is when he went to the DMV and got it put on his license. Here you can either have an extra card or have it added as a note on your license. He wanted it on his license so if he ever got stopped, he wouldn't have to fish for the other card. Unfortunately the license is good for 6 years and the CCW is only good for 3, so unlike the rest of us who have to get the license every 6 years, he'll have to go in for a new one every 3.

Hi!
Yes, I made it to Washington OK. It appears I timed the trip just about perfectly, since a lot of the places I went through got major snow and wind storms right after. Eek! I ran into mist and sleet once, but it didn't last long.
It was a beautiful drive, for the most part. And though the cats did their fair share of complaining, they were troopers for the most part. Got here early Tuesday, and had my first job interview on Wednesday - I'm still waiting to hear back on that. Prayers are appreciated!

Alright! Alright! Sheesh. ilovew, let's start dancing before these people lose their minds.
Might want to work on that suave technique you have of asking a lady to dance.

BTW-- Nowhere, I MAY have a 9-181, for you, in my stash, and maybe the CRT board. I'll check monday. (right now, it is 10 degrees here, and I am NOT going into that garage tonight!!)
Thanx, man!!!!
Let me know, then we can work out the details, costs and so on if you do have one. For the Daytona 500, I'll put the old girl back into action, usually when the red picture happens, turning it off and on usually resets it and it is fine for a day or two until it does it again, rinse & repeat. My father had the same System 3 model as us, except his was made in 1979. I was mad when he got rid of it, I might have used the spare part.
I'd like my 19 incher color Zenith back, it is tough playing Final Fantasy VII and VIII on a 1966 Sony 9 inch B&W TV. Too bad the Playstation doesn't have a COLOR/B&W switch like my old Atari 2600. B-)
Man, it is only 10 degrees here still and it is sunny. It got down to 3 degrees during the night. When I went to bed, my bedroom was 58.3 degrees, I have the coldest bedroom in the house, it was a "four cat night" for me, I had Boo, Corky, Greystone and GW in bed with me. It's hard to move though, I usually end up hearing a thud during the night as I kick a cat off or wind up with a face full of cat. B-)

I do not believe men are afraid of women, but they fear that they may say something that will be taken wrong, or such and end up in a lawsuit or jail sentence or be tarred with a bad reputation. They also hear of women (and see it on tv) who will fake an assault, if a man either does not accept their advances or does not do something they desire.
That actually happened to my gradeschool buddy I still hang with. The girl he was with at the time had 2 or 3 kids and she did accuse him of abusing her kids (physically as in hitting) and it got so bad he was arrested and spent the night in the county jail. The girl's father fessed up and told the truth that nothing like thay happened so no charges were filed and he was released. I think she got POed at him for some reason or whatever and this happened. The girls he finds, well a lot of them are of questionable character. It seems he is in a race to settle down and he rushes before he thinks. His mom is on dialysis and she told me that "I want to see him married before I die." In many way, I think the pressures of family and society to get married ("you're 30 or 40 and you ain't married yet"), a lot of people rush in and make decisions based on little and/or bad information.
Currently, he brought down a young lady form Canada to live with him, knowing past hitory, well, I don't have great hope for that. He met her online. I'm not saying the online thing is bad, but only after a few months of online chat and not going up on a couple of long weekends to check her out first, I fear he is "leaping before he looks." She has a bit of a past form what she has told me, she has/had Hepatitis C (hopefully it is cured, it can be done of caught and treated in time but you still have a bit of a crapshoot there) and a bad family life so I wonder about her too. I do believe in the power of redemption of course, but you still have to "trust but verify." She is a bit of a loudmouth though and lacks job skills, she can't even hold down a job very well. he just turned 25 and my buddy will be 41 in July.

(pcottraux says I'm special!)
To: Nowhere Man
I know this is a Friday Night Threadand its Sunday night now, but oh well. It's a holiday weekend!!!! So here I am!
Speaking of Horror Stories of Love...
I got a male friend in his mid-thirties who, after his divorce is so desperate for companionship he will settle for the first female who gives him two seconds of her time.
My buddy who is 35, met a 23 year old homeless pregnant woman on the internet, who lived about 12 hours away in another state. The story goes that she was supposedly kicked out of her home by her family for getting pregnant by a much older married man (who had his own family), who also abandoned her completely once he found out she was pregnant with his child. She ended up at a temporary homeless shelter for pregnant girls. I stress temporary, because after they have the baby, the girls have about two weeks to find another place to live.
The homeless shelter happened to have internet access and this is how this girl met my friend out here in California. Next thing I hear, she has her baby and he drives out (12 hours in each direction) to pick her up from the shelter, and then drives her all the way back to California to LIVE with him. He tells me he's "in love", and that she is the innocent victim in all this. Never mind that he has no way to verify her story, and knows absolutely nothing about her and what her past may really contain. I can't help but to feel strongly that she's only going along with this because she needs a place to live. What if she's really fleeing from the law? What if she's got diseases or a drug problem? This is huge scary Pandora's box, and it makes me sick to my stomach to hear that he went and did this. What the hell is he thinking?!?!?! Can anyone explain this behavior? He wasn't like this before. I can only guess that, one day, he completely snapped.
Oh, and BTW, he got FIRED from his job for taking several days off to collect this girl, without permission from his employer. Now he works temp jobs to survive. He tells me she doesn't work (surprise), but she plans to find a job....
I can only sit back and watch the sick freak show. Am I wrong to say this? I can't help but to think it's only a matter of time before he calls to tell me she's suddenly left him for another sugar daddy.
