When I was a kid in North Georgia, there was a chain called "Krystal" (yes, with a K).
They had hamburgers for 5 cents. Small, just a patty on a dinner-roll, but I could eat a dozen.

In the early '60's I moved from Washington state to Alabama. There was a White Castle right next to the "Heart of Dixie" motel where we stayed the first night we arrived.
My Gramma took us kids over for supper while the grownups got us settled in. Eating those little burgers and watching the fireflies dance on a warm summer evening. This was my introduction to the South and I recall it fondly ever since.
