It's hard to think that it will be 5 years since the Intimidator crossed the finish line to immortality. Long live the legacy of Dale Earnhardt, and may he be resting in heavenly peace.

If there is ANY car number that NASCAR allows for its retirement it should be #3, the number so associated with the late Dale Earnhardt. I personally think #43 should also be retired also given that it was associated with Richard Petty, perhaps the second-greatest NASCAR driver after Earnhardt.
